A family photo, a hand-written note from a grandparent or a name in a favourite font are wonderful things to print. A cartoon character, a sports logo or a photographer&#8217;s portfolio picture belong to someone else. This policy explains what we own, what you own, what we will and will not print, and how rights holders can contact us if they think something on thecozyprint.shop uses their work.</p>\n<h2>1. What belongs to The Cozy Print</h2>\n<p>The following are owned by The Cozy Print or used with permission from their owners:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>the name &#8220;The Cozy Print&#8221;, our folded-blanket logo and the look of our website;</li>\n<li>original designs, layouts, typography combinations and seasonal artwork offered in our shop;</li>\n<li>product photos, mockups, illustrations and icons on our pages;</li>\n<li>the text of our product descriptions, guides and policy pages.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>You are welcome to share links to our pages and to post photos of a blanket or sweatshirt you bought from us. Please do not copy our designs, photos or text to sell products, to build another store, or to suggest that you are connected with us.</p>\n<h2>2. What belongs to you</h2>\n<p>When you personalise an order, you send us words, dates, names and sometimes photos. They remain yours. By placing an order you give us a limited permission to use them only to produce, check and deliver that order and to deal with any return or support question about it. We do not:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>show your photos or personalisation on our website, in advertising or on social media;</li>\n<li>reuse your text or pictures for other customers&#8217; products;</li>\n<li>keep your photos after the 30 days following delivery.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>If you would like us to delete a photo sooner, just ask. Our <a href=\"/privacy-policy/\">Privacy Policy</a> covers how we handle this information.</p>\n<h2>3. What you may send us to print</h2>\n<p>When you place an order, you confirm that you have the right to use everything you send. In practice, these are usually fine:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>photos you took yourself, or family photos you are entitled to use;</li>\n<li>professional photos where the photographer has given you permission to print them for personal use;</li>\n<li>names, dates, short messages and quotes you wrote yourself;</li>\n<li>a child&#8217;s drawing or a grandparent&#8217;s handwriting, scanned and emailed to us.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>4. What we will not print</h2>\n<table class=\"policy-table\">\n<caption>Content we decline and why</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Type of content</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Example</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Why we decline</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Brand logos and trademarks</td>\n<td>Sports team crests, car brands, designer logos</td>\n<td>They belong to their owners and are protected as trademarks</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Characters and franchises</td>\n<td>Cartoon characters, film and game characters</td>\n<td>Protected by copyright and licensing</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Celebrity images</td>\n<td>Photos of famous people, unofficial fan art</td>\n<td>Copyright and personality rights</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Other people&#8217;s artwork or photos</td>\n<td>An image found online, a studio portrait without permission</td>\n<td>Copyright belongs to the creator</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Song lyrics and long quotations</td>\n<td>Full verses of a song</td>\n<td>Protected by copyright</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Harmful content</td>\n<td>Hate, harassment, explicit material, private information about others</td>\n<td>Against our <a href=\"/terms-of-service/\">Terms of Service</a></td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<p>If an order includes something we cannot print, we email you before printing. You can change the content within the order or cancel it for a full refund. We would always rather suggest an original alternative — your family name in a warm serif, a simple pattern in your team&#8217;s colours, a photo you took yourself — than turn a gift idea away.</p>\n<h2>5. Fonts, themes and &#8220;inspired by&#8221; requests</h2>\n<p>Customers often ask for &#8220;the font from that film&#8221; or a design &#8220;like the one on that show&#8221;. We create our own designs rather than copying someone else&#8217;s, so we may suggest a similar feeling instead of an exact copy. Seasonal themes such as snowflakes, pumpkins, hearts or plaid patterns are common to everyone and are fine; a specific artist&#8217;s or brand&#8217;s version of them is not something we will copy.</p>\n<h2>6. If you think we are using your work</h2>\n<h3>Copyright</h3>\n<p>For photos, artwork, designs or text you created, please follow the notice process on our <a href=\"/dmca/\">DMCA</a> page. It lists the information we need so we can act quickly.</p>\n<h3>Trademarks and other rights</h3>\n<p>For trademarks, brand names, design rights or personality rights, email <a href=\"mailto:support@thecozyprint.shop\">support@thecozyprint.shop</a> with &#8220;Intellectual property&#8221; in the subject line. Please include:</p>\n<ol>\n<li>your name and contact details, and the rights holder you represent;</li>\n<li>the right concerned (for example, a registered trademark with its registration number and country);</li>\n<li>the exact page address(es) on thecozyprint.shop and what on the page you are referring to;</li>\n<li>a short explanation of why you believe the use infringes your rights;</li>\n<li>a statement that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.</li>\n</ol>\n<p>We acknowledge reports within 24 hours on business days, review them promptly and, where the report is well-founded, remove the material or stop offering the product. We let the reporter know what we did.</p>\n<h2>7. If your content was removed</h2>\n<p>If we removed something you provided and you believe we got it wrong — perhaps you are the photographer, or you have a licence — reply to our email with evidence of your rights. For copyright removals, you can also send a formal counter-notice as described on the <a href=\"/dmca/\">DMCA</a> page. We will review your response fairly.</p>\n<h2>8. Using our name and content</h2>\n<p>Bloggers, journalists and customers sometimes want to mention us. You may use our name to refer to our store accurately and link to our pages. Please do not use our logo or product photos in a way that suggests a partnership or endorsement without asking first. To ask, email us with a short description of how you would like to use them.</p>\n<h2>9. Examples from everyday orders</h2>\n<h3>A photo from a family photo session</h3>\n<p>A grandmother wants the family&#8217;s photo-session portrait on a blanket. The session photographer&#8217;s agreement allows personal prints. She orders, notes it in the order notes, and emails the photo. That is fine to print.</p>\n<h3>A favourite cartoon character for a child&#8217;s blanket</h3>\n<p>A parent asks for a well-known cartoon character with their child&#8217;s name. We cannot print the character because it belongs to the studio. We suggest an original design — the child&#8217;s name with stars and a moon, perhaps — and the parent decides whether to change the order or cancel for a full refund.</p>\n<h3>A team crest for a dad&#8217;s sweatshirt</h3>\n<p>A customer asks for a professional sports team&#8217;s logo with &#8220;Dad&#8221; underneath. We decline the logo, but offer &#8220;Dad&#8221; in the team&#8217;s colours without the crest, so the logo itself is not reproduced.</p>\n<h2>9. People in your photos</h2>\n<p>Besides copyright, people have a reasonable expectation about how their image is used. For a family blanket, that is rarely a concern — but a few habits help:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ask adults before putting them on something that will sit in someone else&#8217;s living room.</li>\n<li>Think twice before printing a child&#8217;s full name together with a birth date and a school photo on an item that might be photographed and shared online.</li>\n<li>For memorial pieces, check with close family before printing a photo of someone who has passed away, so the gift comforts everyone.</li>\n<li>Do not send us photos of strangers or of public figures for printing.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>10. Images made with editing apps or generators</h2>\n<p>Some customers send photos they have edited, filtered or created with an image tool. These are welcome when you have the right to use them. Please do not send images that imitate a specific artist&#8217;s work, contain brand logos or famous characters, or show real people in situations that did not happen. The same rules as section 4 apply, whatever tool made the picture.</p>\n<h2>11. Children&#8217;s drawings and handwriting</h2>\n<p>A scanned drawing by a grandchild or a recipe card in a grandmother&#8217;s handwriting can make the most meaningful blanket or pillow of all. These belong to your family, and printing them for your home is exactly what we are here for. Scan or photograph them in good daylight, flat and straight, and email the file with your order number. We use them only for your order and delete them 30 days after delivery, like any other photo.</p>\n<h2>12. Quick answers</h2>\n<h3>Can I print a quote from a book or a poem?</h3>\n<p>A few words, or a common saying such as &#8220;home is where the heart is&#8221;, are usually fine. Long passages, full poems by living or recently living authors, and song lyrics are protected by copyright, so we cannot print them without the rights holder&#8217;s permission.</p>\n<h3>Can I print my company&#8217;s logo for a team gift?</h3>\n<p>If you are authorised to use your own company&#8217;s logo, tell us in the order notes and confirm it in your email with the logo file. We will only print logos the customer has the right to use.</p>\n<h3>Can I sell blankets I bought from you?</h3>\n<p>Our products are made for personal use and gifting. Reselling items that carry our original designs, or copying our designs for sale, is not permitted without our written agreement.</p>\n<h3>Who owns a design you made with my family name?</h3>\n<p>Your name, words and photos stay yours. The underlying design — layout, artwork and lettering style that we offer in the shop — remains ours, and you are free to enjoy and give the item you bought.</p>\n<h2>13. How we look at a rights report</h2>\n<table class=\"policy-table\">\n<caption>Steps after we receive a trademark or other rights report</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Step</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">What happens</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Acknowledge</td>\n<td>We confirm receipt within 24 hours on business days</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Clarify</td>\n<td>We ask for anything missing, such as the page URL or the registration details</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Review</td>\n<td>We compare the material on our site with the right described</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Act</td>\n<td>Where the report is well-founded, we remove the material or stop offering the product</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Inform</td>\n<td>We tell the reporter, and the person who provided the material if it came from someone else</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<h2>14.
