We sell blankets, pillows and sweatshirts printed with our own designs and with the names and photos our customers send us. This page explains how copyright owners can tell us about material on thecozyprint.shop that they believe infringes their copyright, following the process set out in the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). For trademarks, design rights and the rules for customer uploads, see our <a href=\"/intellectual-property-policy/\">Intellectual Property Policy</a>.</p>\n<h2>1. What this page covers</h2>\n<p>This process is for copyright: original photos, artwork, illustrations, patterns, text and similar creative works. Examples of what a copyright owner might report:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>a product image on our website that uses your photograph without permission;</li>\n<li>a blanket or sweatshirt design that copies your illustration or pattern;</li>\n<li>text on our pages copied from your website or book.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>It is not the right channel for general complaints about an order, a delivery or a refund — please use <a href=\"/contact-us/\">Contact Us</a> for those.</p>\n<h2>2. Who can send a notice</h2>\n<p>A notice must come from the copyright owner or someone authorised to act for them, such as an agent, a lawyer or an agency managing the rights. If you are not sure whether you own the rights — for example, a photo taken by a friend — please check before sending a notice. Notices that knowingly misrepresent ownership can have legal consequences for the sender.</p>\n<h2>3. How to send a copyright notice</h2>\n<p>Email <a href=\"mailto:support@thecozyprint.shop\">support@thecozyprint.shop</a> with &#8220;DMCA notice&#8221; in the subject line, or post your notice to The Cozy Print, 171 Oliver St Apt 1, Newark, NJ 07105, US. Please include all of the following:</p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Your signature</strong> — physical or electronic (a typed full name is fine in an email) of the copyright owner or authorised representative.</li>\n<li><strong>The work</strong> — a description of the copyrighted work you believe is infringed, with a link to or copy of the original where possible.</li>\n<li><strong>The material on our site</strong> — the exact page address(es) on thecozyprint.shop where the material appears, and what on that page you are referring to (for example, &#8220;the second product image&#8221; or &#8220;the design printed on the blanket&#8221;).</li>\n<li><strong>Your contact details</strong> — name, postal address, telephone number and email address.</li>\n<li><strong>Good-faith statement</strong> — a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.</li>\n<li><strong>Accuracy statement</strong> — a statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner.</li>\n</ol>\n<table class=\"policy-table\">\n<caption>Copyright notice checklist</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Element</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Required</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Tip</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Signature</td>\n<td>Yes</td>\n<td>Typed full name in an email is accepted</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Description of your work</td>\n<td>Yes</td>\n<td>A link to where you published it helps us compare quickly</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Location on our site</td>\n<td>Yes</td>\n<td>Full URL, not just &#8220;your blanket page&#8221;</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Contact details</td>\n<td>Yes</td>\n<td>We use them only to handle the notice</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Good-faith statement</td>\n<td>Yes</td>\n<td>One sentence is enough</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Accuracy statement under penalty of perjury</td>\n<td>Yes</td>\n<td>Confirms you are the owner or authorised agent</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<h2>4. What we do with a notice</h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Acknowledge:</strong> we confirm we received your notice within 24 hours on business days.</li>\n<li><strong>Review:</strong> we check that the notice contains the required elements. If something is missing, we tell you what is needed.</li>\n<li><strong>Act:</strong> for a complete notice, we remove or disable access to the material identified, and we stop offering the design if it is a product.</li>\n<li><strong>Inform:</strong> where the material was provided by someone else, we tell them it was removed and send them a copy of the notice (your contact details may be included, as the law expects).</li>\n<li><strong>Record:</strong> we keep a record of the notice and our action.</li>\n</ol>\n<h2>5. Counter-notices</h2>\n<p>If material you provided was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification — for example, you took the photo yourself — you can send a counter-notice to the same email or postal address. It must include:</p>\n<ol>\n<li>your physical or electronic signature;</li>\n<li>a description of the material removed and where it appeared before removal;</li>\n<li>a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification;</li>\n<li>your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice or their agent.</li>\n</ol>\n<p>When we receive a complete counter-notice, we send a copy to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us within the period set by law that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material.</p>\n<h2>6. Customer photos and personalisation</h2>\n<p>Most of what we print is personal: names, dates and family photos sent by customers for their own orders. These photos are used only to print that order, are not published on our website and are deleted 30 days after delivery. If you believe a customer has asked us to print your copyrighted work — for instance, your professional wedding photography — email us with the details you have, and we will look into it. Customers confirm when ordering that they have the right to use what they send us; see our <a href=\"/terms-of-service/\">Terms of Service</a>.</p>\n<h2>7. Repeat infringement</h2>\n<p>If someone repeatedly sends us material that infringes copyright, we may refuse their orders and close their account. We decide this case by case, looking at how many valid notices relate to the same person and whether the use looks deliberate. A single honest mistake — such as a customer who did not realise a studio photo needed permission — is handled with a friendly explanation, not a ban.</p>\n<h2>8. Misuse of this process</h2>\n<p>Please use this process only for genuine copyright concerns. Sending a notice or counter-notice that you know to be false can make you liable for damages. If you are unsure whether something infringes, you may want to take legal advice before sending a notice.</p>\n<h2>9. Timeline you can expect</h2>\n<table class=\"policy-table\">\n<caption>How a copyright notice moves through our process</caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">Step</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Who</th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Timing</th>\n</tr>\n</thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>Notice received and acknowledged</td>\n<td>The Cozy Print</td>\n<td>Within 24 hours on business days</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Missing information requested, if any</td>\n<td>The Cozy Print</td>\n<td>In our acknowledgement or soon after</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Material removed or disabled</td>\n<td>The Cozy Print</td>\n<td>Once a complete notice has been reviewed</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Provider of the material informed</td>\n<td>The Cozy Print</td>\n<td>When the material is removed</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Counter-notice, if sent</td>\n<td>Person who provided the material</td>\n<td>Any time after removal</td>\n</tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Possible restoration</td>\n<td>The Cozy Print</td>\n<td>Only after a complete counter-notice and the period set by law</td>\n</tr>\n</tbody>\n</table>\n<h2>10. Before you send a notice</h2>\n<p>A few minutes of checking can save time on both sides:</p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Look at the exact page.</strong> Our product pages may show several pictures. Note which one you mean, or take a screenshot and attach it.</li>\n<li><strong>Consider whether it is really a copy.</strong> Common themes — a snowflake, a heart, a family surname in a serif font — are not owned by anyone. Copyright protects your particular expression, not the idea.</li>\n<li><strong>Consider fair use or permission.</strong> If you previously licensed the work to someone, check whether that licence covers the use.</li>\n<li><strong>Write to us informally if you prefer.</strong> If you only want a credit, a correction or a conversation, an ordinary email works too. We are happy to talk.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>11. What information we share</h2>\n<p>When we pass a notice to the person who provided the material, we usually send the notice as you wrote it, because the law expects them to be able to respond. If you would rather some details were not shared, tell us in the notice and we will consider it within the limits of the process. We use contact details in notices and counter-notices only to handle the copyright matter, as described in our <a href=\"/privacy-policy/\">Privacy Policy</a>.</p>\n<h2>12. Rights holders outside the United States</h2>\n<p>We are based in the United States, so this page follows the US process. Rights holders in Canada, Australia, New Zealand or elsewhere are welcome to use it too. If your local law gives you a different procedure, mention it in your notice and we will handle the request fairly and promptly.</p>\n<h2>13. Examples</h2>\n<h3>A photographer finds her landscape on a product image</h3>\n<p>A photographer sees that the background of one of our product pictures looks like her lake photo. She emails a notice with a link to her original, the URL of our page and the required statements. We acknowledge within 24 hours on business days, compare the images, remove the picture while we review, and let her know what we did.</p>\n<h3>An illustrator recognises his pattern</h3>\n<p>An illustrator believes a holiday sweatshirt design copies his snowflake pattern. His notice names the product URL and includes his original artwork. We stop offering the design while the notice is reviewed, and if it was supplied by a third party, we pass the notice on to them.</p>\n<h3>A customer worries about her own wedding photographer&#8217;s rights</h3>\n<p>A customer wants her wedding photo on an anniversary blanket and asks whether that is allowed. Many photographers give couples permission to print their photos for personal use, but the terms vary. We suggest she checks her photographer&#8217;s agreement or asks the photographer, and then places the order once she is comfortable. Personal printing for her own home is exactly what our service is for; we simply ask that it happens with the right permission.</p>\n<h3>A notice that is missing a page link</h3>\n<p>A rights agency emails &#8220;your site uses our artwork&#8221; without saying where. We reply within 24 hours on business days and ask for the exact URL and the original artwork. Once the notice is complete, we review it and act as described above.</p>\n<h2>14.
